Helen Papas is a visual artist based in Kent, UK.

Her practice moves between digital image-making, painting, collage and constructed works, exploring the relationship between structure, interruption and perception.

Working with grids, lines, fragmented imagery and architectural forms, Papas builds systems that are subsequently shifted, obscured or disrupted. Her work is interested in the point at which order begins to loosen — where an image appears coherent but remains slightly unstable or unresolved.

Digital and physical processes sit alongside one another within the practice. Images are layered, fractured and reassembled, while materials such as linen, cotton, plywood, tape and paper introduce texture, resistance and irregularity. Across both, editing is central: elements are added, removed, concealed and displaced until the work arrives at a state that feels held, but not fixed.

Papas completed an MA in Fine Art at the University for the Creative Arts (UCA), Canterbury, in 2026.
